The Ohio Tactical Officers Association mourns the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Sgt. Ean Esposito, a dedicated SWAT officer, respected leader, and longtime member of the OTOA family. Ean’s unwavering commitment to service—through his military career, his years with the Berea Police Department, and his contributions to the tactical community—left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege to know him. As we begin Police Memorial Week, we honor his life, his service, and the legacy he leaves behind. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and fellow officers during this difficult time.
Rest easy, brother. You will not be forgotten.
The Ohio Tactical Officers Association (OTOA) is excited to announce a strategic partnership with the American Sniper Association (ASA) to revolutionize police sniper training in Ohio. This collaboration represents the first time ASA has partnered with a state tactical association to provide their renowned training programs, marking a significant milestone in delivering advanced sniper education.
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I share that longtime OTOA member Lieutenant Rodney Osborne, from a Southern Ohio Correctional Facility, was fatally shot on April 9, 2024, during a training exercise on the firing range at the Correctional Training Academy in Orient.
Lt. Osborne was a 13-year veteran with ODRC and was beloved amongst his peers. He was a leader at his institution and a member of the honor guard, SRT, and the STAR team. We’re heartbroken over this sudden loss and ask that you continue to keep his loved ones and team members in your prayers.
