This 1-day (8 hour) course is designed to help an officer respond more efficiently during an OIS critical incident. This course will help an officer develop a process-based approach to handgun shooting and will focus on the essential skills required to get their handgun in the fight as efficiently as possible. Subjects include efficient duty gear set-up, shooting platform/structure, fundamentals of defensive marksmanship,
acceptable accuracy based on target perception, understanding the balance of Speed and Precision, breaking down drills/techniques into component skills and critical incident reloading.
Duty/Tactical belt if issued
Duty handgun with holster and 3 magazines minimum
Body armor or plate carrier if issued
400 rounds of quality handgun ammunition
Packed lunch/snacks/hydration source. Clothing for weather conditions
