This award is presented each year to a SWAT/Tactical/Patrol Unit whose members have distinguished themselves through valorous actions during a tactical operation or call for service.

A selection committee reviews situations in which members of the nominated unit clearly acted without regard for the safety of their own lives in order to safely resolve a situation, thus protecting fellow officers and/or innocent victims and bystanders.

Nominations eligible for review must be from the previous year or earlier.  

All nominations must include the following:

• Full Name of the person submitting the nomination.
• Department / Agency / Organization of the person submitting the nomination.
• Documentation of the event in a paragraph.
• A contact person to verify the event, actions, or conduct.

Awards Presentation during the Opening Ceremony at the General Session on Monday of Conference Week at 8 am - Kalahari Resorts & Convention Center, Sandusky, Ohio

*This award is eligible for a maximum of one (1) team annually.
*Lodging and meals are NOT covered for the annual training conference registration.

*The recipient of this award shall receive one (1) complimentary registration to the Ohio Tactical Officers Association Annual Conference for five (5) consecutive years following the presentation of the award. Lodging and travel expenses are not included.
