The OTOA Life Saving Award is presented to the officer who has put themselves at risk of serious physical harm to save another person who is in imminent danger of death.

Nominations eligible for review must be from the previous year of the awards banquet. For example, the situation must have occurred in 2024 or earlier to be eligible for review.

All nominations must include the following:

• Full name of the individual nominated for the award.
• Department/Agency of the individual nominated for the award..
• Documentation of the event: A synopsis of the event in paragraph form.
• A contact person to verify the event, actions, or conduct.

Winners of these prestigious OTOA Awards receive the following:

• Recognition at the OTOA Awards Banquet.
• Lodging will be provided for the award winner for the night of the awards banquet.
• VIP table placement for the winner and *one (1) guest at the OTOA Awards Banquet.
