Presented by Snipercraft in partnership with the OTOA, combining expertise for unmatched training excellence
The police sniper must be a dedicated student of their craft, constantly striving to improve their knowledge and skills. Gone are the days when a police officer could simply be handed a rifle, taught to shoot bullseyes, and labeled a "marksman." A true police sniper must be continually challenged to excel in their field. They must develop skills that prepare them mentally and physically for the demands of their role. Exposure to new ideas, tactics, and techniques is essential, as is an understanding of real-world experiences from other snipers.
This class provides access to all of that and more. The Police Sniper - Advanced Skills and Tactics Course is designed to take participants to "the next step" in their sniping education. This class builds upon the foundation established in the "Basic" course.
This course will include:
- High-stress marksmanship
- Advanced shooting positions and techniques
- Scouting missions
- Integrated SWAT/sniper skills & team tactics
- Counter-sniper operations
- Movement skills
- Flash recognition
- New equipment
- Hide selection, construction, and management
- Case studies
This course will include a combination of classroom instruction, field exercises, and range training.
Students enrolling in this course must have completed an introductory police sniper course or an equivalent foundational-level basic police sniper program before attendance.
This course includes both physically and mentally demanding activities.
Participants are expected to be in above-average physical condition before attending.
One requirement of this class is passing the Sniper Functional Fitness Test and the Snipercraft *qualification course of fire.
*Qualification course of fire is not available before the class.
