Constable Steven Reichert has been a police officer with the Saanich Police Department in British Columbia, Canada, since 2014. In 2017, he joined the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT) as an operator and later specialized as a police sniper.

In June 2022, while responding to a bank robbery and hostage situation, Cst. Reichert sustained three gunshot wounds in an exchange with heavily armed suspects. Despite multiple surgeries and extensive rehabilitation, he made a full recovery and, two and a half years later, returned to full operational status with GVERT. He continues to serve his community through tactical operations and critical incident response.
