Agent Bowman began his career with the U.S. Border Patrol in 2008 at the Eagle Pass North Station in the Del Rio Sector, Texas. After completing BORTAC Selection Course in 2010, he served with the Del Rio Special Operations Detachment and later transferred to the National BORTAC Team in El Paso. In 2015, he was promoted to Supervisory Border Patrol Agent and served as a Firearms and Use of Force Instructor in Harpers Ferry, WV. Following an operational assignment in Alaska, he joined the Detroit Sector Special Operations Detachment in 2021.
Throughout his career, Agent Bowman has served on multiple federal and state task forces, including assignments with the U.S. Marshals Service, FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, and Michigan State Police. Prior to his federal service, he worked as a police officer in Pennsylvania and served in the U.S. Army with the 25th Infantry Division and the 104th Long Range Surveillance Airborne Infantry Detachment.
