Greetings,
My name is Patti Miller, and I currently serve as the Wellness Coordinator for the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department.
I began my careerin 1996 as a corrections officer. From there moved into and Auxiliary officer, a dispatcher, an EMT and eventually a LE Officer. Over the years, working in various disciplines, I witnessed firsthand the level of trauma our first responders face—often on a daily basis. I saw the emotional toll it took on many and how many struggled in silence.
Recognizing the rising suicide rates in law enforcement, I felt a deep need to act. I started by simply checking in on my fellow officers, asking how they were really doing. That small step led to the development of what has now become our wellness program.
It’s grown steadily over time, and while I will never claim to have all the answers, I have a genuine passion for supporting others. Whenever I have the opportunity to share, I do—because I truly believe it can make a difference.
I look forward to connecting with attendees at the conference and sharing with anyone open to listening, learning, and building a stronger, healthier community within our profession.
Warm regards,
Sgt. Patti Miller
