This course will provide a basic overview of Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation Section and Special Response Team, assests, equipment, augmentation and tactics available to all agencies in Ohio.

 Topics covered will be Aircraft overview, Perimeter containment of fleeing felons, SRT / SWAT support operations (Transport, Airborne Use of Force (AUF), Downed officer extraction and transport), and suspect / warrant service Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR).

• Exterior drones for manhunts/surveillance - certified pilots
• Interior drones for clearing structures/cars
• Small interior robots
• Larger robots (stairs, explosive breaching, opening doors, etc.)
• 7 snipers - all certified in aerial use of force with our aviation section
• 7 explosive breachers
• Munition assistance
• Currently 2 Lenco BEARs (one with a MARS for second/third story capabilities)
• New Bearcat in 2024
• Ring Power Tactical Rook in 2024
• 25-unit full time team across Ohio - can typically get a unit on scene within 30 minutes
• Many (soon to be upwards of 25) rifle rated shields to be used/shared if needed for a mission
