Clay Anderson, Combined Tactical Systems (CTS) Training Institute 

The instructor has been a sworn police officer since 1984 and is currently a fulltime LEO serving as a Captain commanding his agency SWAT/CID divisions. The instructor has worked on various assignments in law enforcement to include Patrol, FLEX, SWAT, Criminal Investigations Division, Crime Suppression Unit, K-9 Unit, Federal TFO and Drug Task Force.  The instructor is a graduate Metro Nashville Police Academy. The instructor has also completed advanced training at the FBI / DEA Academy in Quantico and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) at Glynco.  The instructor has amassed thousands of hours advanced law enforcement training and holds dozens of instructor certifications. The instructor has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from studies at the University of Tennessee and Trevecca Nazarene University. The instructor is a graduate of the FBI Law Enforcement Instructor’s Course and completion of the prestigious FBI SWAT course and FBI SWAT Team Leaders course conducted by FBI HRT in Quantico. Anderson currently serves as one of the three Executive Directors of the Tennessee Tactical Officers Association. 

Specific to less lethal munitions, weapons, and tactics Anderson has been trained and certified at the master instructor level since 2004 when he was hired by ALS Pacem Defense as a part-time master instructor for their less lethal program where he served as Senior Master Instructor before accepting a position as Master Instructor with Combined Tactical Systems (CTS) Training Institute in 2021. CTS is the leading worldwide manufacturer of less lethal munitions, weapons systems and training serving U.S. military and law enforcement. CTS is a professional law enforcement and military manufacturer/training company that delivers training to local, state, and federal agencies across the U.S.  

The instructor frequently serves as a guest instructor at dozens of police academies across the U.S. and is a regular instructor at numerous state tactical officers’ association annual training conferences having trained thousands of officers across the U.S.  The instructor is certified by the Tennessee POST Commission as a Specialized Instructor in Firearms, SWAT, Chemical Weapons, Less Lethal and several other specialties. Anderson also holds Less Lethal Instructor certification from the National Tactical Officers Association.
