Students attending the Range Diagnostics course get the opportunity to see malfunctioning direct impingement carbines that are set up to malfunction based on realistic issues that occur in the AR platform. Students are separated into groups and given the weapons to disassemble and diagnose. All students attending the diagnostics class must have already attended a reputable AR Armorer’s Course. Once student groups have had the opportunity to see the weapons available fire and diagnose them, the instructor will guide them through what actually happened and what caused the issue to begin with, wether it be wear, breakage or other issues. The courseis designed to apply skills developed in the typical basic Armorer’s Course and expand the knowledge base of Armorer’s in a real world scenario, better preparing them to conduct repair in their perspective armories in their career.
