The most common reason why Patrol K9s and SWAT K9s fail to engage a suspect on the street is equipment fixation. This one-day, hands-on course will provide handlers with the knowledge to identify and prevent equipment fixation problems. Designed for both beginning and experienced K9 teams, handlers will learn about the various types of equipment fixation and what they can do to maximize the success of their K9 when deployed to apprehend a criminal suspect in the real world. These time-tested techniques have been used to successfully train hundreds of K9 teams around the country.
This equipment is recommended, but not required to attend. Instructors will have all necessary equipment at the course. Class size is limited to 10 K9 teams. Handlers will be required to decoy during the course.
