The OTOA Active Threat Response - User Course is tailored for front-line officers, providing them with crucial principles and tactics for effectively handling active threat situations. Detailed Class Schedule

Class starts at 8:00 AM, and the training days are eight hours long.

Day 1

  • Introduction to Active Threat Response
  • Safety checks and weapons handling
  • Focused training on single-officer tactics and principles
  • Specialized drills for dealing with hostiles and non-hostiles, including de-escalation strategies
  • Practical exercises and debriefing

Day 2

  • Review and safety checks
  • Advanced two-officer tactics and principles
  • Vectoring drills and open space tactics
  • Retake initiative tactics and practical application drills
  • Comprehensive debrief and course wrap-up
