OTOA Awards

The OTOA wants to acknowledge tactically minded first responders and individuals who exhibit commitment, expertise, enthusiasm, support and/or valorous actions.

Any person can nominate an individual or group who qualifies for recognition.

An awards committee selected by the OTOA board of directors will make the final decision regarding the recipient(s) of the awards.


Life Saving Award Proudly Sponsored by 


OTOA Life Saving Award

OTOA Life Saving Award presented to the officer(s) who put themselves at risk of serious physical harm in order to save another officer/citizen's life who is in imminent danger of death.

This award could be presented for actions such as;

  • Saving someone's life during a high-risk operation
  • Pulling someone out of a burning building/car
  • Keeping someone from jumping off a building or being struck by a vehicle
  • Saving someone from drowning.
  • Etc., Etc.

This award would be presented to officers who placed themselves at risk of serious physical harm in order to save a life.

The nomination(s) eligible for review shall be previous year of the awards banquet.
(example - Banquet in 2020, situation must occur in 2019 or earlier to be eligible for review)

All nominations must include the following:

  • Full Name.
  • Department / Agency.
  • Documentation of the event; Synopsis of the event in paragraph form
  • A contact person to verify the event, actions or conduct.
