Course Description

Students will be introduced to basic traffic stops tactics including pre stop actions, threat indicators, approach, stance, and threat avoidance. This course also covers safe tactics to employ for high risk stops. There will be a focus on safe weapons handling, transitioning to less lethal, and surviving a lethal encounter out of a vehicle stop.

Student Requirements

  • Patrol duty belt- no firearms or live ammunition
  • Patrol vest
  • Simmunition or UTM pistol with three magazines
  • 300 rounds of marking rounds for simmunition or UTM pistol
  • Clear eye protection
