This award is presented each year to an individual who contributes the most to further the goals of the tactical community.

A selection committee makes its decision based on evaluating the individual's performance, dedication, and leadership.

The award recognizes the recipient for:

• Unselfish dedication to enhancing the capabilities of the tactical unit or law enforcement agency.
• Unstinting efforts to increase officer and public safety through training and the mutual exchange of information.
• Epitomizing the highest standards of professionalism and honor in all aspects of law enforcement.

All nominations must include the following:

• Full name.
• Department/Agency.
• Documentation of the justification: A synopsis of the rationale in paragraph form.
• A contact person to verify the event, actions, or conduct.

Winners of this prestigious OTOA Award will receive the following:
