HOST THIS CLASS

This course will help officers develop a process-based approach to handgun shooting and focus on the essential skills required to get their handguns in the fight as efficiently as possible.

Class starts at 8:00 AM, and the training days are eight hours long.

Range Drills

• Efficient duty gear set-up
• Shooting platform/structure
• Fundamentals of Defensive Marksmanship
• Acceptable accuracy based on target perception
• Understanding the balance of speed and precision
• Breaking down drills/techniques into component skills
• Critical incident reloading 

Student Requirements

• Duty/Tactical belt
• Duty handgun with holster and three magazines
• Body armor or plate carrier - Mandatory
• 400 rounds of quality handgun ammunition
• Packed lunch/snacks/hydration source
• Clothing for weather conditions
• Hearing protection
• Wrap around safety glasses
• Billed hat 

Lodging, Travel and Food:

The course cost does not include ammunition, lodging, transportation, and food.

• Attendees are responsible for their ammunition, lodging, transportation, and food.

Any tactic, technique, or technology covered at any OTOA advanced training or annual training conference MUST be applied in compliance with the United States Constitution, the Ohio Revised Code, and the rules and regulations of an attendee’s employing law enforcement agency.
