Course Description

Patrol K9 teams are often faced with some of the most dangerous situations in law enforcement. This course is designed for both new and experienced handlers, providing them with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate high-risk encounters. Handlers and their K9 partners will engage in scenarios based on actual K9 deployments, while also learning various training techniques to help them survive sudden lethal threats during patrol K9 operations. The course is taught by active K9 handlers and trainers, ensuring practical, real-world instruction.

Course Curriculum Includes:

  • Patrol K9 deployment methods, utilizing a variety of equipment
  • Techniques for surviving sudden lethal threats while deploying a patrol K9
  • Proper weapon flow and handling during K9 team operations
  • Legal considerations related to K9 use of force
  • Exposure to real-world situations to improve success in the field

By the end of the course, handlers will be better prepared to manage dangerous situations effectively and safely while deploying their K9 partners in the field.

Student Requirements

  • All equipment a K9 team would have with them while on duty;
  • leather muzzle;
  • bite suit (if possible)
