I began my career in law enforcement with the Bellefontaine Police Department in 1996 serving as a patrol officer and on the Special Response Team. In 2000 I joined the Logan County Sheriff's Office. While at the Sheriff's Office I served in patrol, investigations, patrol supervisor, with the Special Response Team, as a hostage negotiator and training officer.  I retired as a sergeant in 2024.  In 2024 I joined the Bellefontaine Police Department and serve as the School Resource Officer at the Bellefontaine Middle School and I also serve as an operator and negotiator on the Special Response Team. I am an instructor in several areas including ALICE, SORAT, OTOA Active Threat Reponse trainer, ASP, and Impact Weapons.

I have been a member of the cadre/instructor staff at Silverback Safety and Training Solutions since 2017.
