The OTOA is delighted to announce another exclusive training course for police professionals, military and armed security officers interested in improving their ability to instruct and mentor students in the semi-auto handgun.

This comprehensive three-day Instructor Development class is for current semi-automatic pistol instructors.

The hands-on course will focus on developing the semi-auto pistol instructor’s ability to diagnose, demonstrate, and instruct.

Requalification Range Officers score targets.

Firearms Instructors make a difference and impact students by constructively challenging them to excel.

All OTOA courses are instructed by credentialed and experienced OTOA trainers.

All OTOA training staff are tenured police professionals with specific expertise in mentoring and coaching shooters of all levels of experience with firearms.

This course does NOT involve any classroom, only range time

• Draws and presentations
• Grip
• Target focused sighted live-fire
• One-hand firing
• Target transitions
• Efficiency in reloading
• Movement
• Decision-making
• Student teach backs

Intended Audience - This is NOT a basic firearms course AND restricted to current firearms instructors

• Those interested in a challenge and improvement 

Required Equipment – Student Supplied: 

• 1000 rounds of factory pistol ammunition – NO RELOADS - NO STEEL CORE
• Duty or Individual owned pistol with a minimum of 3 magazines
• Duty belt with holster or a concealed holster
  (SORRY - No Serpa, shoulder/ ankle holsters)
• Range appropriate attire
• Wrap around Eye Protection
• Ear protection (electronic preferred)
• Weapons lubrication
• Baseball style hat / billed cap
• Food / Water - No meals provided
• Seasonal weather gear/rain gear - dress for the weather
• Note-taking material
