Training Description:

Agency Custom Training — On-Site, Mission-Specific

Bring OTOA instruction directly to your agency with training designed around your operational needs, policies, and environment.

✔ Designed Specifically for Agency In-Service Training
OTOA Contract Classes support annual or periodic in-service requirements while eliminating travel time, hotels, and unnecessary time away from duty.

What This Training Covers

Contract Classes may include in-service instruction in:

  • Firearms — duty pistol, carbine, fundamentals, low-light, decision-making
  • Response Tactics — active threat response, movement, communication, casualty care integration
  • Patrol Operations — single-officer and small-unit response, coordination, tactics
  • SWAT Operations — team tactics, leadership, patrol/SWAT integration, mission-specific training

How the Program Works

Each class is developed with agency leadership and training staff to identify objectives, gaps, and desired outcomes. Based on that assessment, OTOA builds a custom in-service curriculum using proven methodologies and instructional standards.

Courses are available in one- to five-day formats and can be structured for patrol, SWAT, supervisors, or blended groups. Training is conducted at your facility or another approved location.

In-Service Training: Bring OTOA to You vs. Sending Personnel Out

Bring OTOA to Your Agency Recommended

  • Designed as Agency In-Service Training
  • Custom-built around your policies, equipment, and mission
  • Conducted at your facility or approved location
  • No hotels, no airfare, no mileage reimbursement
  • Minimal time away from duty
  • Trains multiple personnel at once
  • Built for patrol, SWAT, supervisors, or blended groups
  • Delivered in your real operating environment
  • Focused on response, decision-making, and life-saving outcomes

Send Personnel to Off-Site Training

  • Often not aligned with in-service requirements
  • Generic curriculum built for a broad audience
  • Requires travel to an external site
  • Travel, lodging, per diem, and overtime costs
  • Extended time off-shift and backfill required
  • Limited seats; personnel attend individually
  • Typically, role-specific, not integrated
  • Training occurs in unfamiliar settings
  • Focus varies by course and provider
In-service training should fit your agency—not force your agency to fit the training.

Administrative Control & Access

Upon contracting, agencies receive a custom registration code providing exclusive access to their specific in-service training course. Enrollment, course materials, and administrative tracking are limited to the contracting agency.
