Good afternoon,
I've received numerous inquiries about training courses we'll be presenting this
year and I'm pleased to say the courses and dates have been approved and
finalized. Due to demand for our basic courses, this year OSP SRT will be
presenting two (2) Basic SRT and two (2) Basic Sniper courses. Each of the
courses will be conducted at the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Training Academy
and central Ohio sites. Attached to this e-mail is an Outside Agency Training
Application. Please use one of these per person, per course. Openings in each
course are limited. Applicants will receive a registration confirmation or a
notice they are on the waiting list.
In addition to the 4 basic courses we will be hosting an Explosive
Breaching/Entry course presented by Olive Security Training Center (OSTC). OSTC
will be handling all registrations and inquiries reference this training. Do
not use the OSP Outside Agency Training Application for courses instructed by
OSTC (Explosive Breaching/Entry). They can be contacted at 662-449-4344 or at
their web site, www.olivestc.com for registration and information on the course.

OST SRT Tactical Courses' Cost: (only pertains to OSP SRT presented courses,
does not pertain to the Olive Security Group's Explosive Breaching/Entry courses
- costs for those are discussed in the OSTC section below).
Cost to attend an OSP SRT presented course depends on whether the student will
be staying at the Academy overnight or not. Additionally, for OSP SRT presented
courses do not send payment for the course until our fiscal department bills
your department after the course is completed:
If the student is not staying overnight at the Academy, the cost of the course
is $10 per day (i.e. 5 day course = $50 course). This cost includes
registration and meals.
If the student is staying overnight at the Academy, the cost of the course is
$20 per day (i.e. 5 day course = $100 course). This cost includes registration,
meals and lodging at the OSP Training Academy.

OSP SRT instructed courses: Attached to this e-mail is an Outside Agency
Training application (use one per person/course). Use this form for OSP SRT
instructed/presented courses.
OSTC Breacher courses: Olive Security Training Center (OSTC - formerly TEES)
handles all registrations for their courses. They can be contacted at

Basic SRT Course: Use the attached Outside Agency Training application for
registration purposes.

This course is designed for operators that have been on a tactical team for less
than one year. This is a “basics” course that stresses developing fundamental
skills, discipline, teamwork and knowledge that are necessary to be deployed on
tactical missions. The course is heavy on practical experiential learning with
some classroom. Courses covered are: Tactical Teams, Their History and Mission
/ Response to Resistance & Liability / Fitness Skills / Basic Entry & Breaching
Skills / Scouting / Operations Order / Mission Preparation & Briefings /
Stationary Vehicle Assaults / Chemical Agents & Less-Lethal Devices / Basic
Subgun / Basic Handgun / Dynamic Shooting Skills / Self-Defense / Final
Exercise.
Required Equipment: Duty handgun (500 rounds), subgun or carbine (500 rounds),
body armor (duty & tactical), protective helmet, eye & ear protection, boots,
gas mask, hydration unit, foul weather gear, Department or tactical team ball
cap, flashlight, gloves, P.T. gear (t-shirt, shorts & running shoes - text or
graphics that are offensive or promote alcohol, drugs or other illegal/offensive
activity are prohibited), kneepads (optional)
Prerequisites: 1) Full-time law enforcement 2) Currently attached or selected
to a LE tactical team
Basic Sniper Course: Use the attached Outside Agency Training application for
registration purposes.

This basic course is designed to develop skills necessary for the deployment and
successful operation of scout/observer teams in critical incidents. The student
will be required to pass written exams as well as demonstrate and accomplish
given tasks to include range estimation, stress shooting and stalking. The
course will stress the basics of scoped rifle marksmanship, including a working
knowledge of ballistics and the .308 round.
Required equipment: Department issued tactical gear; .308 bolt rifle w/ scope,
sling & bi-pod; 500 rounds of .308 Match Ammunition (Federal); Drag bag; “Dope”
book; Spotting scope & binoculars; BDUs w/ bush hat or ball cap; wet weather
gear; Hydration unit; Ear & eye protection; Sun screen; Insect repellant; Rifle
rest (shooting sock or glove); Weapon cleaning kit w/ cleaning solution;
Flashlight w/ red lens; Calculator. Optional items: Ghillie suit, Camo face
paint
Prerequisites: 1) Full-time law enforcement 2) Currently attached or selected
to a LE tactical scout/observer (sniper) team.
Payment Information for OSP SRT presented courses only (Basic SRT & Basic
Sniper):
Do not send payment until after our fiscal department bills your department at
the completion of the training.

are noted on the flyer and below.

This course will be taught by Olive Security Training Center (formerly
T.E.E.S.). OSTC will be handling all registrations for this course (do not use
